Dr Silim Nahdy has been appointed to the post of Executive Director of the African Forum for Agricultural which is a close business partner to the Knowledge Centre for Agriculture.
The African Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services, AFAAS, has after a competitive international recruitment process appointed Dr Silim Nahdy to the post of Executive Director.
The Knowledge Centre for Agriculture has been working for a number of years with AFAAS to establish networks and through that work and other assignments in Africa has developed a knowledge base about agricultural advisory services in a number of African countries.
The African Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (AFAAS) is an umbrella organization for African organizations working with agricultural advisory services in 16 countries in Africa and has initiated a project to establish and strengthen national networks of agricultural advisory services. This is a major project that the Knowledge Centre, has become a partner in.
Dr Silim Nahdy comes to AFAAS with a wealth of experience gained in a career spanning over 30 years and embracing university teaching, scientific research in crop post-harvest systems, as well as planning and managing national agricultural research and advisory services. He led the team that designed the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) of Uganda which he subsequently led as the Executive Director for a period of 10 years.
