As of February 1, 2011, Jan Mousing will be the new managing director of the Knowledge Centre for Agriculture.
Jan Mousing, who is currently the chief veterinary officer of the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, will replace Frank Bennetzen, who has decided to retire after many years of service as managing director of the Knowledge Centre.

Jan Mousing, 53, who comes from eastern Jutland, is a doctor of veterinary medicine and has a PhD in epidemiology and economics. Before being employed as chief veterinary officer of the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration in 2007, Jan Mousing was the managing director of The Danish Institute for Food and Veterinary Research under the Ministry of Family and Consumer Matters for two years. Prior to that, Jan Mousing was director of development in Foss Electric and managing director of Lattec I/S. Furthermore, he was research and advisory chief of the Danish Bacon & Meat Council for several years.

 - We have been through an intensive process to find the new managing director, who, we believe, will guide the Knowledge Centre for Agriculture safely into the future, says Jens Ejner Christensen, chairman of the board of the Knowledge Centre for Agriculture.

- Jan Mousing is an experienced manager with a thorough knowledge of the agricultural business and his insight into research, development and innovation will contribute to positioning the Knowledge Centre both nationally and internationally in the future.

- We are looking forward to addressing, together with Jan Mousing, the many exciting challenges that the agricultural business is facing and to continue to develop the close collaboration in the Danish Agricultural Advisory Service (DAAS).
