The number of farmers that received objections for not looking after sick animals in accordance with regulations has been reduced by 50%.

Increased animal welfare in Danish herds
Cows on Danish farms have better welfare conditions now than previously.

100 field trials
Every year the Knowledge Centre for Agriculture together with crop advisers throughout  the country carry out more than 1000 practical field trials.

Agro Food Park marks grand opening of 6,000 m2 of new facilities
6,000 m2 of new office-, laboratory- and conference facilities let in record time. This is reality for Agro Food Park, Denmark’s new innovation and business park within the agro-food sector, as 120 employees from 17 companies have just moved in. Located just outside Aarhus, Agro Food Park is planning for considerable expansion in coming years.

Organic advisers are trained in sustainability
For consumers and breeders of food products it is no longer sufficient that products are approved as organic by the state authorities. They ask for additional documentation for the organic, economic and social sustainability in the production.

Improved economic outlook for Danish agriculture
Calculations undertaken by the Danish Knowledge Centre for Agriculture and the Danish Agriculture and Food Council indicate that an average full time farming operation in Denmark will attain an income of about half a million Danish kroner in 2011.

The farmers’ barometer: Farmers are optimistic about the future
The latest positive trends in the economic gains for agriculture continue into 2012 with better earnings, increasing production and increasing investments. But farmers experience to a greater degree restrictions to an increased production.
