The main task of the Knowledge Centre, Fur Animals, is to provide advice for the 1,700 Danish mink farms as well as 14 feeding centrals that supply fresh feed for the farms on a daily basis. We do this through direct advisory service at the farms/feed stations and through communication in mail service, articles and meetings for members.
The department is the secretariat for the four regional associations within Danish Fur Breeders Association. We also co-operate closely with the fur trade through Kopenhagen Fur. For example, we initiated a quality project in 2006 where four breeders were frequently provided with advice from both the Knowledge Centre, Fur Animals and Kopenhagen Fur.
At the Knowledge Centre, we work together with several other departments on environment, legal matters and finances.
