Agro Food Park joins an ambitious climate partnership

Agro Food Park together with 11 other companies from Aarhus have signed a climate partnership with Aarhus municipality.

A CO2 neutral Aarhus by 2030, and an economic advantage for the participating companies.
That is the target for the recently announced cooperation between the municipality of Aarhus and a number of local enterprises and knowledge based companies.

The cooperation that Agro Food Park, and hereby the Knowledge Centre for Agriculture, formally became a part of is known under the term Climate Partnership. There was a ceremony at Aarhus City Offices on Wednesday 9th February to sign the documents and mark the occasion.

The chairman for the leadership of Agro Food Park Mr Jan Mousing, who is also director for the Knowledge Centre signed the agreement implying that Agro Food Park is committed to en energy efficient strategy and thus assisting Aarhus in achieving its aim to make Aarhus CO2 neutral by 2030.

-We are pleased to sign the climate partnership agreement for three reasons. One, it is good that the municipality enters into an agreement with the cities private and public enterprises, secondly, because we work for the agriculture sector that must live up to a number of environmental demands every day, and we are willing to support that, and thirdly because we wish to support the municipality CO2 target, said Jan Mousing before he signed the agreement together with the municipalities councilor for Technic and the Environment, Laura Hay.

Sustainable Traffic
At the same occasion the councilor praised the 12 enterprises that had signed the partnership agreement.

-It is positive that so many enterprises and institutions within business, production and education will join us in this partnership. I hope that together we can make some new products that can contribute to make the city more sustainable, said Laura Hay.

The involved enterprises are split into teams that will work with energy savings in different areas. Agro Food Park participates in a team that will work on a more sustainable traffic in the Skejby area.
