Reducing mineral fertilisers and chemical use in agriculture by recycling treated organic waste as compost and bio-char products.

UNIFARM 2011 – 2013
GNSS User forum on Navigation based Innovation for Farmers.
UNIFARM sets up a user forum to present and defend the needs of farmers in the development of GNSS applications and services. It will also serve as a new dissemination channel to increase awareness. GeoWebAgri 2012 – 13
Geospatial ICT infrastructure for agricultural machines and FMIS in planning and operation of precision farming.
The overall aim of the GeoWebAgri project is to analyse and develop an ICT infrastructure for handling geospatial data and knowledge both in agricultural machines and farm management information systems (FMIS) and promote the introduction of this technology in European software and automation products for agriculture. FARMAGAS 2008 – 2009
Promotion of anaerobic digestion and biogas production in specific high-potential countries, Poland, Romania, Hungary, by know-how dissemination and knowledge transfer.
The project ran for 12 months and its major goal was to enhance the use of anaerobic digestion of agricultural wastes in European farms.

Aquarius 2009 – 2012
The farmer as water manager under changing climatic conditions.
The project focuses on enabling farmers to act successfully as water managers in changing climatic conditions. The project will present water risk management practices that will reduce the consequences of flooding, droughts, water shortage and nutrient transport.
The emphasis on the farmer as a water manager is contributing towards implementing EU policies, such as the Water Framework Directive. The final result of the project is a water management concept to use as a manual for farmers and a set of recommendations on future land and water management planning.

WaterCap 2011-12
A cluster Project on Water management in a changing Climate, Adaptation to new conditions, and Promotion of new strategies.
The WaterCAP cluster connects six INTERREG IVB funded projects (CPA, Aquarius, SAWA, C2C-islands and CLIWAT) working with issues relating to water. It will focus on recommendations relevant to policy-makers on: 1) Water quantity/quality issues, 2) Climate change impact assessment on different types of water bodies and 3) Adaptation strategies.

BioM 2010 – 2012
The objective of BioM is to develop and demonstrate new systems and technologies of production, for amongst other technologies, biogas production. As part of the project an organic biogas plant will be constructed, willow plantations will be established on environmental sensitive areas and meadow grass will be harvested from environmental sensitive and marginally productive areas.
