International Code of Business Ethics of Danish Agricultural Advisory Service (DAAS), Knowledge Centre 
This code of conduct establishes the rules that DAAS, Knowledge Centre employees must observe in order to meet DAAS, Knowledge Centre's ethical standards for business behaviour.

Basis
The international business ethics are in keeping with DAAS, Knowledge Centtre's policies and procedures for activities carried out in Denmark and are based on DAAS, Knowledge Centre's visions and values. The values are:

Openness and innovation
This is expressed in that we
• are open to new ideas and that we inspire each other
• are willing to seek new ways
• are proactive, willing to take risks and prepared to make changes
• are reaching out, visible, extroverted and obliging

Correctness and punctuality
This is expressed in that we
• choose and perform tasks in relation to customer requirements and needs
• are punctual in relation to our objectives, appointments and deadlines
• work on a scientific and professional basis
• keep in mind that professionalism is important but without "overshooting the mark"
• ensure the utmost practical value to our customers

Teamwork and sense of occasion
This is expressed in that we
• seek co-operation to obtain good results and integrity in our work
• co-operate with our customers through an open dialogue
• act with sense of occasion and respect for differences
• acknowledge our own limitations and seek knowledge outside our own sphere

Our international business ethics have been elaborated on the basis of the criterion that DAAS, Knowledge Centre is going to benefit its customers through continuous staff training and technology development targeted at ensuring the utmost project productivity.

Services and quality
DAAS, Knowledge Centre will only undertake international project assignments within DAAS, Knowledge Centre's areas of expertise, where DAAS, Knowled Centre and the other Consortium Partners of the Partnership have the capabilities to perform a given service.
DAAS, Knowledge Centre constantly focuses on developing qualifications among its advisers and hence ensuring a continuously high professional approach to services delivered by DAAS, Knowledge Centre. This is achieved by focussing continuously on the tasks to be performed and qualifications required throughout the duration project.

DAAS, Knowledge Centre will look for solutions which contribute to a sustainable development and will apply the optimal management and development tools required to deliver effective services to the customer's satisfaction. Sustainable use of natural resources and protection of the environment belong to DAAS, Knowledge Centre's fundamental objectives. Where appropriate, DAAS, Knowledge Centre will apply environmentally safe methods and environmentally sound products.

Objectivity and Impartiality
DAAS, Knowledge Centre will provide objective and impartial services and keep the interests of our partners in mind at all times. DAAS, Knowledge Centre will ensure customer loyalty by attempting to avoid any conflict of interest which may arise when dealing with customers. Moreover, we will avoid conflicts with other assignments and own corporate interests. To avoid any unsolved matters, DAAS, Knowledge Centre will contact the customer in matters of doubt. DAAS, Knowledge Centre will treat confidentially documents and reports prepared for customers, unless otherwise agreed between the parties. DAAS, Knowledge Centre will at any time act in the best interest of the customer and will work on the given project or parts of the project with the highest possible professional integrity, as long as this does not jeopardise the interests of society.

Co-operation
In projects carried out by a consortium of companies, DAAS, Knowledge Centre will inform the partners of its international business ethics.

The Role of the Project Management (read Consortium Partner)

Introduction to guidelines
The DAAS, Knowledge Centre project management shall inform all present and future project advisers, managers and partners involved in international projects about DAAS, National Centre's international business ethics guidelines.

Responsibility
The project management is responsible for ensuring that the qualifications required of the adviser are met and for describing the objectives, tasks and responsibilities precisely and making sure that they are understood. The project management supports each adviser participating in the project and clarifies the authority of each adviser as regards project implementation, field of responsibility and economy, if relevant. The project management shall keep the whole project as well as all the project activities in mind when analysing the connections between the different processes related to the project.
Proactive and effective management is essential to achieve the best value.

The role of the management with respect to corruption
The OECD Convention requires all OECD member countries to make bribery and corruption abroad punishable to the same extent as bribery and corruption at home1. In order to render visible the existing guidelines for relations with partners, competitors and other interested parties in a project, the project management shall set guidelines for the contact with the interested parties at the outset of the project. In connection with large projects, this will be part of the administrative and financial manuals. All employees are accountable and they are under obligation to raise any issue of doubt with the management for clarification and decision. Members of the project management are covered by the same guidelines as the advisers; please see "The Role of the Adviser".

Safety
The project management shall be responsible to keep abreast with the official security advice in countries of assignment by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
