About The Knowledge Centre, Danish Agricultural Advisory Service (DAAS) 
The Knowledge Centre, Danish Agricultural Advisory Service, is the main supplier of professional knowledge for the agricultural professions.

Farming is a profession where the development is moving very quickly and where acquisition and implementation of new knowledge and new techniques constitute the difference between success and failure.

Our role is to process and convey the latest knowledge from research institution, companies and educational institutions and others – to our clients.

Our clients are primarily the 31 advisory centres that we are closely connected to in the partnership Danish Agricultural Advisory Service, but also includes food businesses, authorities and agricultural colleges. In a few areas, we also have farmers and other agriculturalists as our direct clients.

FACTS ABOUT THE KNOWLEDGE CENTRE
  • We advise 45,000 farmers, 1,000 horticulturalists and nurseries and 5,000 other small and medium businesses
  • We employ 550 highly educated staff
  • We had a turnover of 545 million Danish kroner in 2009
  • The Department of Economics prepares tax accounts for about 37,000 farmers annually
  • We own the information knowledge database ”Landbrugsinfo.dk” where 3850 professional articles were published in 2009
  • We deliver technical support to a large number of homepages belonging to businesses and organisations including” LandbrugsAvisen.dk” that has 10,000 visitors every day
  • Founding member of Agro Food Park, an international knowledge based business park for the agriculture and food production sector
